THIS IS SPARTA!

I certainly don't have to be the one to tell you again, but I am going to.
Michigan State University is a true force to be reckoned with and over the past four years, the Spartans have taken the collegiate sports spotlight away from universities such as Alabama, Oregon and Kentucky.
Why? Because unlike those three schools, MSU not only has a football team that is led by the nation's top ranked quarterback heading into the 2015-2016 football year, but also the best coach in sports, Tom Izzo. That is, we have both an amazing football and basketball team, a rarity in collegiate sports today.
That success has also carried over to the professional level as we have seen MSU basketball alumni Draymond Green continuously having the spotlight in post-game victories with the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
Likewise, Michigan State football alumni Leveon Bell is arguably the best running back in the NFL.
Although MSU's sports success goes much further back then the last four years, we haven't really seen our collegiate players transition to find success at the professional level.
When you are competing against "one-and-done" schools in basketball such as Kentucky, where high school athletes just want to find the easiest route to the NBA, it presents a challenge to Izzo and company.
This past basketball season we witnessed what was arguably the best Michigan State basketball, NCAA Tournament run Michigan State has ever seen. Sure, we had great talent, but nothing compared to teams like Kentucky. (Which is actually interesting because Wisconsin knocked off Kentucky in the Final Four, and if MSU hadn't made about three bonehead plays, we would have defeated Wisconsin in the Big Ten Basketball Championship game.)
MSU has found success with players that are willing to spend more than their freshmen years at the world's greatest University. These players get a once-in-a-lifetime college experience, an education and coaching that has proven to everyone that Michigan State University is the greatest sports school in the nation.
When we graduate MSU, and we are 80 years old, I hope that MSU will still be a force down the road, but we should all cherish and realize that our time thus far at Michigan State has been the greatest time to be a Spartan in school history.
GO GREEN, GO WHITE.
